Engineers week

Engineers week took place from the 2nd to the 7th of March.
The children took park in many hands on activities throughout the week introducing them to the basics of engineering.
In the Junior room the children's work was based on the fairytale Rapunzel. The children were challenged with designing and building a tower to keep Rapunzel in, then later in the week they were asked to design and create a way for her to escape.
The middle room were asked to design and create a bridge that was 30cm long and could hold a pencil case and the senior room were asked to design and create a bridge that could hold the most weight.
These design and make activities encouraged the children to think creatively, develop their problem solving skills and to work as part of a team.
